Description

Preclinical invitro and in vivo studies have shown that BPC 157 peptide speeds up tissue repair and healing processes in bones, ligaments, tendons, skin, and intestinal tract. The 15 amino acid sequence of BPC 157 is derived from a naturally occurring human BPC peptide, making it more stable and versatile for researchers.

At PeptideLion, our goal is to provide you with high-quality BPC 157 peptides for research needs. These peptides are manufactured and quality-controlled so you can buy the best BPC 157 that gives you valid and reliable results every single time.

Read on to learn more about BPC 157 benefits and supporting research.

What is BPC-157?

BPC 157 is a synthetic gastric pentadecapeptide discovered during research on human gastric juice. It mimics the human BPC 157, making it resistant to the effects of gastric acids, hydrolysis, and digestion.

Here are some of the potential BPC 157 benefits:

  • Tissue and organ healing
  • Regeneration of blood vessels (angiogenesis)
  • Blood flow recovery
  • Ligament and tendon recovery
  • Reduces inflammation
  • Strengthens and repairs endothelial linings

Note: BPC 157 is an experimental compound intended for research purposes only. It is not approved for therapeutic use or human consumption.

  1. Bioavailability:
Its sequence enables it to interact with biological pathways in tissue repair and regeneration, blood vessel formation, and modulation of inflammation.
  2. Synthetic design:
High-purity BPC 157 contains the specific fragment responsible for biological activities in research models. The specific sequence shows a dose-dependent relationship, where high or optimal BPC 157 dosages may enhance its biological benefits.

BPC 157 Research Summary

Early 1990s – Isolation and introduction of BPC 157 peptide as an ‘organoprotective’ compound.

The findings from in vitro and in vivo studies showed organoprotective effects in various species using very low BPC 157 dosages. The effects were long-lasting and apparent after the first application. [1]

2006 – Accelerated healing of skin wounds

A study was conducted to evaluate the skin healing benefits of BPC 157(PL14736) in healthy and experimental hyperglycemic rats. Gel formulation of the compound was applied to excision skin wounds, while a PDGF gel was applied as a standard therapy. The healing process was observed and recorded for 7 days. They reported that BPC 157 showed a dose-dependent acceleration of wound healing in diabetic rats. In addition, it was more effective in depositing granulation tissues and mature collagen as compared to the standard therapy. [2]

2010 – Counteraction of drug side effects

A study was conducted to evaluate the counteractive effects of BPC 157(PL14736) on paracetamol-induced hepatic encephalopathy with generalized convulsions in rats. They found that low BPC 157 dosage (10mg or 10ng given intraperitoneally or intragastrically) counteracted paracetamol toxicity when given immediately or within 3 hours. Rats treated with BPC 157 showed no convulsions or reduced convulsions with significantly lower liver and brain lesions. The level of liver enzymes was also significantly reduced, showing that BPC 157 can be a strong paracetamol antidote.[3]

2012 – BPC 157 for gut health

BPC 157 can have therapeutic benefits in healing intestinal fistulas caused by the blockage of NO-synthase in rat models. Rats with esophageal fistulas were treated with BPC 157 (given parenterally and preorally) for four days. The treatment was done alone or in combination with L-NAME and I-arginine. The results showed that BPC 157 significantly accelerated fistula healing, reduced leakage, restored sphincter pressure, and eliminated the risk of esophagitis. No fatalities were recorded in rats treated with BPC 157. [4]

Esophagogastric anastomosis can be life-threatening. Although growth factor-based treatments can improve anastomosis healing, they can’t address the risk of leakage and loss of sphincter function. This is where BPC 157 can be used to fill the gap.

A study evaluated the therapeutic benefits of BPC 157 in treating esophagogastric anastomosis in rats. They received a single dose of BPC (10mg or 10ng) alone or in combination with L-NAME (5mg), or L-arginine (100mg). They found that BPC fully counteracted the anastomosis from the beginning. No loss of blood vessels at the treatment site or fatalities were recorded in rats treated with BPC 157. [5]

2021 – BPC and knee pain

Knee pain is a common complaint with several risk factors including arthritis, ligament or tendon injuries, and sprains. BPC was shown to alleviate knee pain in patients.

A retrospective study was conducted to evaluate the potential therapeutic benefit of BPC 157 peptide in treating knee pain. A total of 16 patients treated with intra-articular injection of BPC 157 alone or in combination with TB4 were followed up. Out of these 16, 12 received BPC 157 alone and 11 reported a significant reduction in knee pain post-treatment. Out of 4 patients who received a combination of BPC 157 and TB4, 3 reported a significant reduction in pain and 1 reported no improvement. [6]
